If the print head touches the wall even though the distance control is enabled, there are two possible causes:
1. Sudden unevenness in the wall
The distance control can only compensate for sudden or significant changes in the wall surface to a limited extent. Before printing, inspect the wall for protrusions or uneven areas.
If uneven areas are encountered during printing, increase the print head distance at those locations using the software. It is also recommended to reduce the Y-axis speed, giving the print head more time to compensate for changes in the wall surface.
2. The wallPen is not aligned parallel to the wall
If the wallPen is not perfectly parallel to the wall, the laser sensor on the right side of the print head may measure a greater distance than the left side of the print head actually has.
As a result, the software displays the correct distance at the laser position, while the left side of the print head may be much closer to the wall and can come into contact with it.
